It is now true that history will never forget Dr. Parmjit Singh Sehra due to his unique and historical achievements. A film in English entitled "Eight Below" depicts some Antarctic explorers and sledge-pulling dogs, and is based on a true story, dedicated to all Antarctic Explorers including him, whose courage & spirits inspired that film. He is thus a source of constant inspiration for everyone. His Ph.D. Thesis is the first ever pioneering research work on Antarctica from India as is obvious from the following links:

Dr. Sehra’s high credentials and profile (http://www.punjabjalandhar.info/2009/10/dr-parmjit-singh-sehras-brilliant.html) may sound threatening, but he is actually a very humble, simple and down to earth academician. In addition to his unique historical distinction of being the first ever Indian to winter over the South Pole and circumnavigate and explore the Antarctic continent, he is also the Founder of the Indian Antarctic Program and has worked as a Senior Scientist & Technical Expert in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) , USA, United Nations Organization (UNO) , Geneva Switzerland, Academy of Athens, Greece, International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP)/UNESCO, Trieste Italy, Al-Fateh University, Tripoli Libya, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO); as a Professor in the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab; and as a Director/Principal in the Indo-Global College of Engineering & Technology, Chandigarh, DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Daltonganj Jharkhand, DAV College of Engineering & Technology, Kanina, Haryana, and Ghubaya College of Engineering & Technology, Jalalabad(W), Fazilka, Punjab.
Dr. Sehra has visited and worked in all the seven continents of the world. Most of his research papers have been published in highly reputed international scientific journals such as Nature, Journal of Geophysical Research, Geophysical Research Letters, Journal of Meteorological Society of Japan, Astrophysics & Space Science, etc. Every scientist dreams of publishing at least one paper during his/her lifetime in the most reputed journal, Nature, but only a few get to realize their dream. Dr. Sehra not only had his paper published in Nature, but also was the sole author of his publications as seen in these links:
